Manchester United After arnautovic (mirror)

Manchester United have turned to West Ham frontman  Marko Arnautovic to fire them into the Premier League's top four after mourinho and his team have suffered from inconsistencies.

Jose Mourinho is preparing a bid is excess of £50million for West Ham’s maverick striker in the January transfer window.

Both the Portuguese and the Austria international worked together at Italy with Inter Milan though there was a report of a fell out with the outspokrncoach but the West Ham have denied such is the case.

Mourinho was interested in bringing Arnautovic to Old Trafford back in the summer — but didn’t follow it up with a bid.

But now Mourinho believes that Arnautovic, who played under him for a short time at Italian giants Inter Milan nine seasons ago, could spark his side into a push for the Champions League places.

The Austria international has become a fans’ favourite at the London Stadium since joining from Stoke for £24million in summer 2017 and West Ham would be loathe to part with him.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini claimed the star was “happy” earlier in the week, after Austrian newspaper Kurier claimed Arnautovic “wants to compete with the very best”.

"He is a West Ham player because he has a contract here, he is happy here," said Pellegrini.

"Every player always wants to play in the biggest team but I don't think that Marko is thinking about that. He is thinking about West Ham and he tries to make his best performance in every game."

Agent Danijel Arnautovic said his brother needs to “play for a top team” and it was “possible” he could leave.

It’s understood the 29-year-old’s advisors have been made aware of the United interest and would be open to a move to Old Trafford.

Mourinho sees Arnautovic as a catalyst for some of his younger players, who he has criticised for a lack of maturity.

Questioned last week on his future, the former FC Twente and Werder Bremen frontman said: “I concentrate on West Ham. We have a big game against Manchester City and I am only thinking about this.

“Whatever is going on with my agent and the clubs is not my business. My business is to perform on the pitch, to put in performances.”

Manchester United were held to a goalless draw at Old Trafford by a spirited Crystal palace which resulted to a boo from some section of the fans.

Arnautovic addition would add extra power to Man United frontline with Lukaku misfiring though he played on their saturday stalemate with the Eagles and saw the goal he scored to be called offside.
