HAZARD : "MADRID MOVE IS POSSIBLE"

The Belgium international quenched any possible January return some months ago but has done little else to dispel to ongoing rumours linking him with a sensational switch to Spain.

The Belgian ace, whose contract runs until June 2020, has already admitted he has always dreamed of becoming a Real Madrid player and would be interested in joining them in the future.

Hazard has, though, appeared to dismiss the possibility of a January move to the Bernabeu but he also refused to rule out a summer move to Real Madrid though he admits it's just as likely he could spend the rest of his career at Chelsea.

The Belgian has been a long-term target of the Spanish giants and he has not hidden how he feels about a potential move to Madrid but Chelsea are keen to tie him down to a new contract.

With him turning 28 in January, Hazard's next contract will likely be the last big one of his career. His current deal expires in the summer of 2020 and Chelsea are poised to offer in excess of £300,000-a-week.

Los Blancos are expected to be the only threat to Chelsea re-signing him, though the Spaniards surprisingly did not test their English counterparts with an official bid in the summer.

In an interview with French TV station Canal Plus, Hazard did not play down his chances of moving to the Spanish capital but also spoke about possibly staying put.

'I have one year left in June. If I don't extend, it (a move) is possible,' he said.

'I can't see myself leaving in January. I wouldn't do that to the club, the fans. Next summer it's a possibility, but it's also possible that I spend the rest of my career at Chelsea.'

Hazard was also asked about a possible return to France and more specifically Paris Saint-Germain but plainly denied those rumours.

He added: 'I had contact with PSG, but it did not tempt me. I have always said that if I came back to Ligue 1 it would be to Lille.'

Hazard has scored seven goals in 12 games in the top flight this season and was in the Chelsea team that was brushed aside by Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday.
